Daddy-Daughter Hike

[Jason is writing this post.]

Last November, Ellie and I went hiking at Memorial Park in Houston. She was super excited to go and really wanted to collect just about everything for her various collections. Rocks, leaves, sticks, etc. At one point she found an Ellie-sized hiking stick and proceeded to slice and slash at every low hanging branch she saw. Near the middle of our journey, we stopped and had a picnic and looked at some bugs crawling next to us on the bench. It looked like I had finally found a hiking buddy. However, it didn't take her very long to realize that hiking takes some degree of effort, and shortly after our picnic, about halfway through our adventure... she was done. Needless to say, she had a piggy back ride for much of the way back.
