Day 4: The Alhambra

Wednesday was all about the Alhambra.

Jason and I woke up when my dad called our room in the morning. We had slept through our morning alarm. Luckily he called us fifteen minutes before we were supposed to meet him for breakfast, so we were still able to get ready in time.

We had a quick breakfast at the hotel buffet, checked out of the hotel (but left our bags with the staff at the front desk), and then walked down to the entrance of the Nasrid Palaces.

The Alhambra was simply amazing, and pictures can describe it better than words.

Max was having a little bit of a hard time that morning.

Max was really tired after seeing the Alhambra.

So was I.

After we saw all of the Alhambra, we collected our bags and took taxis down to the car rental place in the middle of the city.

Tired babies at the car rental:

We rented two cars, all packed inside, and started our road trip to our next destination - Aljeciras. Tanner, Alyse, Jason, and I were in one car, and my Dad, Banks, Nan, and the kids in the other. We drove south towards the sea and once we got close, got off the main highway and drove on a smaller road that wound through the middle of the cities all along the coast. We stopped for lunch in Nerja, and then got back on the road. We arrived at our current destination about 8 pm, had dinner, and had a couple hours of rest. I used the time to catch up on the blog, while most of the others walked around town and found a playground for Max to play at.

Dad took all of these pictures on their walk:
