Whirlwind California Trip

So, we decided last minute (just a couple days ago) that we were going to come down to California for Alyse and Tanner's California reception. They stayed at our apartment on Friday night, we caught a ride with them down to Yorba Linda on Saturday, we hung out with family and friends all Saturday and went to the reception, and caught a ride back to St. George on Sunday with my mom and stepdad.

Jason with Emily

We met our niece Emily for the first time. She's so cute! Here are her and Ellie meeting each other.

And here are some more pictures of Ellie. I can't resist.

Jason giving Ellie a Swedish massage. She likes those.

She also got to try riding a dog (Michael and Shelley's chihuahua Jexi, to be exact). She loved it.

We had a great time in California, and are planning to go back in just a couple weeks for another short trip to go to our friend's wedding. It's great to go home, even if for just half a day!

A Bit Surreal

Okay, so I'm sure all of you know who Nienie is, right? The woman who survived a plane crash with her husband and now blogs about her life and her recovery? Right? Great.

Well, this last week I was reading her last couple posts, and I came across this one and totally did a double take. That's my doctor! That's the little exam room I waited in a million times over the course of my pregnancy! Nienie is seeing the very same doctor who delivered Ellie! It's so strange to see that picture of the exam room with my doctor in it - it's like a picture straight out of my memory, minus Nienie and her family. Kind of surreal.

Anyway, in case you wanted to know who delivered Ellie, that's him!

Meant to Be

While we were up in Utah Valley this weekend for my sister's wedding, we got to see our good friends Jill and Tommy and spend some time with them at their apartment. They have a little boy, Bradley, who's now almost 6 months old. We introduced Bradley and Ellie to each other while we were there. It went great! They were both so interested in the other baby. Here's some pictures of their first meeting: (oh, and yes, Ellie is wearing Monsters Inc. pajamas. It's one of our favorite outfits she has. And yes, if you didn't know she was a girl baby, you might mistake her for a boy baby in them. But now you know it's her.)

Yes, they are holding hands in that picture, and no, we didn't do it! Bradley reached out and grabbed Ellie's hand, and they were like that for like a minute. It was adorable!

Bradley is so photogenic - he smiles straight at the camera!

Gah! They're both so cute!

Alyse and Tanner's Wedding

Hi everyone! Well, we're back in St. George after an exciting weekend. My sister Alyse got married on Friday to her sweetheart Tanner, at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was beautiful and very happy.

I know I've mentioned it on here before, but to my friends who are less familiar with temples, in a temple wedding the couple is sealed together for all time and eternity. That means their marriage is eternal; it won't end at death. It's sweet! I'm so happy I have that guarantee I'll be with Jason even after we die.

Here's some pictures of Alyse and Tanner and my family at the wedding:

Sooo happy!

Poor cold little Ellie was all bundled up. It was really cold as we were outside taking pictures. She was snuggled up in this big furry coat and fuzzy blanket the whole time.

After the temple ceremony and pictures of everybody, they had a luncheon at Thanksgiving point. It was really fun and classy, and the food was great. They had this guy there making Italian sodas. I think I had like four or five (no kidding). I was shameless. I kept going back. They were delicious.

Tanner's dad also told me and my mom a funny story about Tanner. Tanner's a super polite guy, and apparently has been that way since he was a little kid. When he was just two and learning how to talk, he learned the words "Thank you!" And every time they would change his diaper, he would jump up, say "Thank you!" and run away.

Alyse and Tanner's reception that night was at a nice place in South Jordan. Ellie was the most popular person (other than Alyse and Tanner) at the reception. I spent half the night chasing her down. :)

My cousin Brad and my dad playing with Ellie :)

Ellie loving all the attention :)

I loooooooooove them

So yeah! We had a great day. Congratulations to Alyse and Tanner!

I just have to say that I love my husband and baby. So much. SO much.

That's all.

Ellie's Blessing and Two-Month Checkup

Hi everyone! I hope everything is going well with you. Things are good down here in St. George. Last weekend we had Ellie's baby blessing, and lots of family (my parents, Jason's parents, my sister Sydney, Jason's brother Tyler his wife Sarah, and my aunt and uncle) came to visit. It was awesome! It was so fun to spend time with them and for them to be able to play with Ellie. Here's some pictures of the weekend:

It was so great.  :) Ellie also had her two-month checkup this week at the doctor's. She was 9 lbs 5 oz and 22 inches long, both of which are in the 25th percentile. So she's a smaller baby, but she's perfectly healthy. And sooo cute. She didn't like her shots, though. :( She cried and cried. But now she's safer, so it was worth it. We love our little baby.

Also, this is an exciting week because my sister Alyse is getting married on Friday! She and her fiance, Tanner, are getting sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on Friday morning. Yaaay!

We'll be coming up to Utah Valley for the wedding. We'll be there from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon, so if you'd like to see us or Ellie, let us know and we'll make arrangements to get together!

Ellie says Happy February!

Okay, actually I'm saying it, because Ellie can't talk and doesn't know what February is. But if she could talk, and she did know, I'm sure that's what she'd be saying.

Here are some pictures from our house yesterday!

We hope you're having a lovely first day of February!
