Ninjas, Green Beans, and Lord of the Rings

Hi everyone! Hi! :)

Sorry that I haven't written in such a long time. Now that spring has rolled into summer I feel that I really need to get back here and tell you what we've been up to for the last couple weeks. Cause seriously, there are SO MANY awesome things. Like...

Green beans!

Our garden is doing super awesome. Green beans are cool. Did you guys know how cool green beans are? See, they trick you - they pretend like they're not going to grow. They're like, "Oh yeah, we see that the carrots are sprouting and the onions are sprouting and even the wildflowers are sprouting, but we think we'll just stay here in the ground. We like it here." And then, one day, just when you've given up all hope, they surprise you and explode out of the ground! Their stems are almost spring loaded, and they just pop up in the course of an hour or so! It's awesome. See all those ones in the picture? That happened in like two days. Yeah. Green beans are awesome.

Also, one day when Jason and I were heading out to the garden to water, we found this little guy on our window:

Yeah, a bat! We don't know where he came from. It was the middle of the afternoon, and he stayed there until it got dark 6 or 7 hours later. I pet him.

Oh, also, you know ninjas? Okay, well, they actually rescue people! For real! Isn't that awesome? Click here for the whole story (really, it will make you happy): Ninjas!

Anddd.....Sydney is 9 and a half! And Alyse is back from her mission. Which means... that we decided that it was time to watch Lord of the Rings! Yaaay!

You see, a long time ago Alyse and I made some kind of deal with Sydney that she would wait until she was 10 to watch Lord of the Rings, and when she was that age we would all watch it together. Well, Sydney's old for her age, so when Alyse got back from Brazil we decided that it was time. So we had a Lord of the Rings Party! Three, actually. Last month, we watched one movie every Saturday for three weeks. It was awesome. We had good food (well, candy), good company, and we got to watch the best movies ever. Sydney really liked them.

Oh, and I flipped a blin! A blin is a Russian crepe kind of thing (but better). Jason makes really good blins. One day I was standing in the kitchen, thinking about how cool the people are that can flip blins and whatnot in pans by just a flick of their wrist, and then I was thinking about how no one was around, so I could try it, because if I messed up nobody would see so I should just go for it, and I did, and it worked! I was thrilled. I wasn't expecting it to. So I tried it again on the next blin. *cough* That wasn't so successful. But now I know that I can do it.

(This is a blin.)

Finals for spring semester were last week (although they feel much longer ago), so Jason and I finished up with those classes. Then we (Jason, Alyse, Sydney, and I) took off to the mountains and went camping for a couple days. It was sooo fun. It's gonna get its own post, so look for that in the next couple days. :)

Summer classes started on Monday, and Jason and I are in an English class together. Woohoo! Our teacher's cool. It seems like its going to be a good class. Other than English, I'm taking physics and Jason's taking anatomy.

So yeah! That's what we've been doing in a nutshell. School, garden, work, Lord of the Rings, Highland, ninjas, and blin (and laundry). I'll write again in a couple days. In the meantime, in case I don't see you, Good afternoon, good evening and good night!
