First post! And Honeymoon!

Hi everyone! So, (and I can't even guess how many blogs start out this way), I've decided to start a blog! I wanted some way to be able to tell you all what Jason and I are doing in our daily lives - about our fun adventures and our little trials and all of the funny things that happen in between.

As most of you probably know, Jason and I just got married on April 23, 2010 in the Newport Beach Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We don't have many wedding pictures yet, but we'll post them as soon as we get them, we promise. :)

What we do have photos of, though, is our honeymoon! We went to Disneyland for three days, and had a blast. We took a ton of pictures, based on the advice of some of our friends (thanks guys!)

Just got there!

See those pins we're wearing? They're awesome. They say "Just Married," and we got them from the town hall. Our whole time at Disneyland, all of the workers kept telling us congratulations, and they even got us free parking!

Waiting in line for our first ride, the Matterhorn.

And then Pirates!

We are very fierce pirates.
Very fierce.
See?
Haunted Mansion!

And Jungle Cruise! Our guide was hilarious. He had this really dry, monotone sense of humor, and at one point when "headhunters" were shooting at us, he went "Pshew, pshew! Their arrows! They're flying right over your heads! Just like all of my jokes."

Oooh, and gumbo! The "Try Our Gumbo" from New Orleans Square is my absolute favorite. It's the very best gumbo in all the world. And they serve it in bread bowls, which is like a huge reason of why it's so delicious. It's just so good. Sooooo gooood.

Okay, have any of you guys ever been to Captain EO? It's this crazy Michael Jackson meets the muppets meets Star Wars music video in 3D. I mean... 'Nough said.

Us in front of the magic castle! Did you know you can actually go inside? It's got the story of Sleeping Beauty in there. You walk through, and it's all dark and scary, and then all of the sudden (after it's been dark and scary the whole time), it's suddenly like, "And they lived happily ever after!" It's pretty funny. And exactly like the Snow White ride, come to think of it.

Playing in Pooh Corner...

Okay, funny story: One of the nights we went across the street to McDonald's for dinner. We both got soda cups and went to the fountain, which was this kind of island thing in the middle of the restaurant. Jason went on one side and I went on the other to fill up our sodas. I looked at the options but didn't really want any of them, so I decided to make my own orange soda using a combination of Sprite and Orange Hi-C. Just as I was topping off the cup, Jason came around the corner. "I made my own orange soda," I said, showing him my cup. He lifted his cup and said, "Me too!" We had totally both made our own orange sodas at the same time! Awesome? We think so.

Another funny, related story that I don't have a picture for: On the very first day we got there, we "hopped" from Disneyland to California Adventures. All that means is that we went from one park to the other (we actually did this all three days). When you change parks, you need a ticket and a hand stamp to get back into the other park. The first time we went through, Jason was like, "Why do you need a ticket and a hand stamp? Why can't you just have one?" "I don't know," I replied, and we thought about it for a while, and then forgot about it. Then, over the next couple days, we seriously went back and forth between the parks so many times, and each time we had to have our ticket and our hand stamp. Then, on the very last day, on the very last time we changed parks from California Adventure to Disneyland, it suddenly made sense in my head why you needed both (so multiple people can't use the same ticket on the same day), and I turned around after I went through the turnstile to tell Jason. But as I was turning to tell him, he exclaimed, "Jocelyn! I just figured out why you need both your ticket and a hand stamp!" It was hilarious, and awesome. Our minds just work the same way.

Here we were trying to get a picture of the Grizzly Rapids waterfall in the background. You can't see it, but it's there.

Isn't he the cutest husband ever?

Why yes; yes he is.

I could offer an explanation for this one...but I won't. :)

Jason as we're about to get on Autopia.

These next three were all taken from Autopia, as I was "driving." Which means that I was not steering. Which means it was extra fun.

Here's us on the long train that goes all the way around the park; we totally used it all three days as a really nice way to get around. And we got to go through the dinosaur part! Such a funny, random part of Disneyland.

Soooo cute...

Okay, remember how I mentioned the Snow White ride above? Well, this is "Snow White's Scary Adventures." The ride starts out with Snow White dancing with the dwarfs, all bright and cheerful for a total of about three seconds, and then the whole rest of the ride is all dark and scary and swampy and has skeletons and crocodiles and the evil witch everywhere. Then, finally, the witch gets pushed off the cliff in this giant crackle of thunder, and you come out facing this happily painted wall with Snow White and the prince (who you never saw once in the ride) with all these furry animals and a big, painted "And they lived Happily Ever After." So awesome.

We are scared.

This is us on our OWN BOAT on It's a Small World! The ride lady saw our "Just Married" pins and gave us a boat all to ourselves. It was awesome!

Even the little people are celebrating. Hurray! Hurray!

Toontown!

And......

yeah. :)

  5. Oh my gosh. You are seriously so cute and funny I can't even handle it. And did you realize that it's been about 7 years since I have seen you (that was an exaggeration, but really - maybe it has been that long...?). That is far too long. I'm glad you loved your honeymoon though - what a cute couple you are! :)
